It is the third generation since 1994. The Laguna has strong competition in the midsize class. He may prevail at times not only in France, but sometimes falls by lack of quality especially on the German market. It continuous the formerly from the R 16 in this class newly introduced hatchback variant and is accompanied always from the larger station wagon (Grand Tour - starting from figure 5). Although the Laguna design presents no such surprises as the Megane , the individual generations are quite different of each other. Now, although likely more continuity comes under the sheet metal, it must share the casing with the Nissan Primera, of which he may later inherit the V6 engine.

The new design could have a negative impact on the luggage volume - there are not yet official manufacturer's information to storage capacity. In the five-door car - a sedan version will be for now - are an eye catcher the narrow rear lights with LED technology. You sit higher up than the previous model and allows the rear view appear heavier.

Also new the courage to tailpipe. Both body variants carry openly show, even the most powerful diesel swank with two chrome ends. A total of four engines to choose from. The entry marks the well-known from Clio, Modus and Mégane 1.5-liter diesel with 110 hp. It continues with the 2.0 dCi (150) and the 140 hp 2.0 16V petrol engines up to top engine (2.0 16V turbo) with 170 hp. Renault is particularly proud of the environmental balance of its engines. Especially the small diesel is quite something. He comes to just 136 grams CO2-emissions and consumes an average of 5.1 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers and withstand even biodiesel.

In addition to the known from the previous security system, in the new Laguna are used for the first time side airbags with dual chambers for chest and pelvis as well as with dual pressure buildup. Additional airbag safety sensors in the front doors and in the B-columns ensure that air bags are inflated even more targeted. Also standard is on board the ESP stability system. Depending on the equipment line should provide wood, leather, alcantara and brushed aluminum for a pleasant feeling and a touch of luxury. The modified air-conditioning to work more effectively.
