The 110 years, in which Renault is already represented in Germany, we take the opportunity to draw a kind of interim balance of this brand. In 1907, Berlin was the first foreign base of the manufacturer
established in 1898 and the first branch of a foreign brand in Germany.
Renault's reputation is founded on luxury limousines at the time. Only after the Second World War did the success come with the small cars. From this time on the company is controlled from Brühl
(Rhineland). In total, Renault has sold 7 million units in Germany, of which 2.4 million are still in operation.
As a complete success Renault can be seen at present whether the Formula 1 with 12 constructive strings or the strategically clever started alliance with Daimler. From this actully only Renault may profit.
The head of Renault is also head of Dacia, Nissan and Mitsubishi. The group is the fourth-strongest marketplayer in the world.
Where VW plans to go, e.g. the most affordable vehicles, Renault is already there, e.g. with Dacia and production in India. In the USA the Renault-Nissan Group has an output of far more than ten times
as VW. If you adds Mitsubishi's, they are the largest among the foreigners there. The commitment to AVTOVAZ may be future oriented, but also likely to be difficult.
