From the front it is hardly distinguishable from Macan, both resemble so much the family face. The side window front is more rounded off backwards at Macan. The Cayenne takes more consideration to people sitting rear and the rear end view of the Cayenne has to offer more. A progress is also evident with regard to its second generation once again, what one so really can not say for the front.

Most likely, that the great similarity of all Porsche is intended, no matter if sports car or SUV. The additional charge of the Cayenne compared to its two Group brothers is probably also paid due to the inherent overtaking prestige. Here, a large SUV turns out to be a successful manager on the highway fast lane. However, this common front design determines also the brand a little for the future.

The Cayenne is available since 2002. One has delivered from the first generation a little less and from the second slightly more than 300,000. Who would have thought that Porsche sold a fairly identically constructed vehicle in comparison with the VW Touareg nearly 600,000 times, if VW sells 750,000 of them. After all, the Tuareg is already cheaper in the basic price well 15,000 euros. Audi Q7 once again sold around 450,000, but first since 2005. These are based on the year, only slightly more than at Porsche.

Of course, a comparison is made difficult. Thus, the torque of the VW diesel is significantly lower indicated than in the Porsche. The same time, VW mentioned in a footnote a similar torque when boosting. Shame to him who thinks evil of it. The basic equipment is upgraded after all. But otherwise, the substructure is the same. And if here and there should be processed aluminum instead of steel at Porsche, the curb weight differs by 7 kg.

Take a look at the current pricing (2014). Maybe it explains why of all things the biggest SUV represents more than half of all sales at Porsche. No wonder that one came up with the Macan in the meantime. One always thought, Porsche would be a manufacturer of sports cars. In fact, Porsche within the VW Group is now comparable with Jeep at Fiat/Chrysler, because in addition to the newcomer Macan Panamera and 911 are also available with all-wheel drive. 07/14

Waiting for the price differences at the hybrid model ...
