One must always wonder what the company Porsche brings out of such an unfavorable constellation of 2.27 m wheelbase and 4.25 m overall length. The suspension for example again has become a bit better by a new rear axle. Directional stability and driving comfort, there were also necessary. Now it springs better again and goes a little more neutral through curves, if you do not provoke it.

Actually Porsche probably thought differently, namely to expire the 911 slowly. But the clientele depends on the car and so there are now more possibilities explored again. The development already stopped, continues. Although the 911 from 1993 still has the air-cooled engine, but already particularly in the front and rear bumper area carefully altered body.

Particularly striking are the not so steep standing in the wind headlights, which also emphasize the proximity to the newer, but unloved relatives. Even the arrangement of bumpers, lights and air vents is transformed to a more modern form. In front, this results in a different hood, under the due slightly stronger bending by now about 25 liters more capacity is available.

Inside the big design changes are pending. Too much the clientele is used at the five round instruments. After all, the steering wheel has given way to a more filigree design. The engine has gained by many measures about 10 percent. For the inspection bill important are the recently introduced hydraulic valve tappets.

There remains the question of costs. The amount you can see above in the data block. And if you do not have a cheap insurance tariff, the costs of maintenance eat another hole in your wallet. Thus it is not further annoying that the fuel consumption is to press only under the utmost restraint and without a real driving pleasure under 10 liter/100 km Super Plus. 09/10
