The Opel Karl emerges from South Korea and from the same production line as the Spark from General Motors. Both share the same technical basis. Below, in the four pictures, you can see, at least with the more easily exchangeable surfaces, just how cleverly the designers have done their job. As far as price is concerned, the two cars are not comparable because the Spark is powered by the 1,4 litre four-cylinder engine.

At first sight, the VW-up is also much more expensive. However, with both cars, a great deal of optional extras must be bought, e.g., also the air-conditioning. With the VW, one step higher is necessary and two steps in the case of the Opel. Then suddenly, the two are only separated by €300. Apart from the, almost obligatory in this class, glass-sunroof, the Karl also has a Park-pilot, reasonably priced IntelliLink, seat- and steering-wheel heating and assistants for hill-holding and lane-keeping.
Otherwise, with the Opel Karl, one has bought a snappy city-car, with which somewhat longer motorway stretches can also certainly be managed. The springing has even been praised, indeed, the City-Mode of the power steering is found to be unnecessary. The level of noise is also described as being average. Otherwise, you can look around in the interior, the quality assessment can only be referred to the favourable starting price. 06/15
