Sometimes it is interesting to drive a basic design. You can see how completely such a car is already in that form. When you consider that the price can be doubled easily with still the same space. But it shows the red pencil of the manufacturer, the dictate of the merchants. However, it is a little unfair, because one does not test what else to offer the car.

On entering drop to the tightly upholstered seats. The cover material makes a very durable impression. The seating position also is good for people growing larger. No wonder, because the Corsa made a little growth spurt and became a full member of the compact class. Problems with loading or lack of space in the back seat, he has certainly not.

The idle screen will change very rapidly if we put the car in motion. One has the feeling to look at two tracks (A-pillars) past the road. Sure, the big one inclined windscreen one needs for the aerodynamics. And further back it can not. But could it not on the sides be more curved and rest on further back lying and thus less disturbing A-pillars?

Arises from the oblique front windshield above the dashboard an infinitely large area that must be filled. Noble coating materials are expensive, especially if they are to be processed additionally. So you have decided for two different plastic surfaces. Hopefully, the very expensive version looks better. Really annoying here is the leaking chrome design of the center console, which again is to be find entirely in the central field of view of the windshield.

En route, the Corsa is very pleasant. Even during a cold start the small diesel reacts cautious. This behaviour you find also at speeds under 2000 rpm, too. In high gear is simply nothing here. Let it one alone, then you are surprised what a temperament it develops - once sprung from low engine speeds. Of course, developers know that and have donated him a little short transmission for diesel engines. Hopefully, in the version with six-speed this will be transmitted much longer, otherwise a high-volume diesel would be more suitable to save.

On that occasion, probably more often you look at the speedometer and tachometer, which makes little joy in the basic equipment. A lot of black colour and small numbers you makes clear on each trip that you have saved. So contrary to the rest of the car design, which always wants to add a little bit. Sometimes one wishes there even a little more rest for the eye.

Probably it is because this car is still quite new. Who drives slowly with it over cobblestones, has the sense, to feel every stone individually. One can only hope that the dampers after the running-in period a bit whack. The same can be felt in the steering. For people have fun with direct steering it's the right car. A disadvantage is, however, the feeling of having to control constantly the directional stability.
