The Mercedes people are now so sure of success that they only give the sales figures per year and not since 2014, ie per generation: 415,000 pieces in 2017. It will probably remain the most successful series of Mercedes-Benz. In addition to the sedan also the T-model is introduced in Geneve.

The new bumper surfaces can be recognized only on closer inspection. Somewhat more striking are the front and rear lights, the former, by the way, in the basic version still with halogen main and LED at daytime. However, it is now possible to order Multibeam LED headlamps with Ultra Range high beam. The four-cylinder petrol and Diesel engines will remain in principle well, the latter, of course, all certified to 6d Temp. Only in the six-cylinder Diesel, the V- is replaced by the new in-line engine.

Inside, the digital display behind the steering wheel is now available. The new touch sensitivity comes into the steering wheel, but not to the display in the middle, not even to the new one with 10.25 inches, so far max. 8.4. The wheel with a click mechanism remains in the center console, at least now with 'haptic feedback' on the touch surface. New colors and open-pored lacquered woods are now possible. For the assistants, the new one equals the S-Class.

The previous diesel hybrid (as one of the few) will hopefully stay. However, one may hope for changes to the 350e Plug-in, probably with more than 6.4 kWh so far. We will have to wait a bit more for a pure e-version. Prices, after the sale of only more expensive models probably may again begin around 35,000 euros. 02/18
