Apparently the car has increased not much in terms of weight. After all it's remained with the four cylinders. And with the light convertible top, one can close with a simple hand movement. It is for example in the car wash not always very leak-proofed and louder than in open situation. Latest novelty is the convertible roof for 1600 €, which folded do not restrict the trunk. It folds behind the front seats and makes this space also available with closed roof on travelling. Although the plant does not give this information, it is likely that the car will rise somewhat in weight.

Purists complain the entire development effeminacy. Not only the roof, also the seat heating and the optional automatic transmission upset them, even it has six gears. There remains the question of air resistance. Here, the MX 5 is very traditional, because are 0.35 not top class. To rescue the reputation it is to say however, that relatively compact cars have always some problems with the cWvalue.

It should have then been very inexpensive in development. Really cheap for the customer it is not in any case today. There are first the prices of spare parts of Japanese cars. Super solid these cars are also no longer and have their quirks in the long-term tests, too. Thus, the MX-5 actually can not quite keep up in cost comparison with the BMW Z4 with a comparable motor.
