2018 Lotus 3-Eleven 430
This new car is the fastest Lotus approved for public driving. On the demanding race track of Hethel in East England it is again 2 seconds faster than the 3.Eleven produced since 2015. Power and torque have been
improved, making it 10 km/h faster and accelerating to 100 km/h in 3.1 instead of 3.2.
An assembly made of carbon is attached to the chassis made of extruded aluminum profiles and sheets using adhesive and riveting methods. The body has no roof or doors. Only the space for front passenger can
be
covered. But do not worry, there are only 20 copies available worldwide.
The new car is a reminiscence to the 70 years of company history and it reminds together with its predecessor to the Eleven from
1956. Of course this one had a racing cockpit with an open cockpit and a covered passenger seat, too.
Lotus CEO Jean-Marc Gales emphasizes the close link between racetrack and road, for which this 3-Eleven 430 sets an example. He settles this performance in a higher price range. Lotus is again faithful to its
lightweight construction, emphasizing the 5 kg less compared to its predecessor and refering to the carbon as 'visibly woven'. Of course, less weight and more power at the same time, can be expressed in more
power-weight performance even more spectacularly.
Especially a light and fast car needs a lot of downforce. The rear spoiler is mounted 50 mm higher. Overall, the tail is pushed down at maximum speed with a force corresponding to 265 kg weight. The dampers are
made by Ohlins, which specializes mainly in motorcycles, the adjustable stabilizers are from Eibach. 02/18
