Everything is less favorable than at the competition but to bear given the price. Biggest drawback, perhaps, that an air conditioning is receivable not even against additional charge. Airbags are available for the two front seats, ABS and ESP as well. The braking distance is something longer compared with the competition, given the narrower tyres. The engine is not one of the most modern, but an overhead camshaft with two valves per cylinder is sufficient.
Of course the car nowhere among the best, as e.g. in the CO2-emissions. This means that one loses something from the favorable purchase price at the gas station compared to some competitors. But a Lada Granta will probably not bought from people who drive a lot. Otherwise, at least four people with luggage have enough space. With fewer passengers the backrest can additionally fold down.
The car is the result of a kind of popular vote in Russia. Therefore, really impractical accessories it has probably not. The spring system is not uncomfortable and driving characteristics tidy. Lada propagates very strongly the installation of an LPG system for a fixed price, by far the most expensive extra. Please keep in mind that the Granta is Russia's best-selling car with 167,000 copies despite the similar purchase price.
A disadvantage is the shorter wheelbase despite larger exterior length with respect to the competition e.g. the Dacia Logan. This results in slightly shrunken rear seat room with plenty of room for luggage in the notchback. This is visually somewhat mitigated by two curved corrugations in the sheet metal of the massive rear lid.
Technical features with regard to driving one looks for in vain at the Granta. But it shines with primary virtues as a tolerable consumption in everyday life. The engine is something more sporty than its data. In return, the sensitivity of the steering leaves much to be desired. All in all, for driving nothing is missing, not even ESP. 10/13
