Honda has probably never been missing self-confidence. It is the first that venture out of the Japanese archipelago with all consequences. And always associated with participation in racing, with two and even with fourwheeler. 1964 even as the first Japanese company in the Formula 1. So it is not surprising that one thought in 1989, the time has come to present the world (in Chicago) a super sports car. At that time for the engine six cylinders are enough, as these already are well at Honda with increased speed level. The other ingredients are the finest: mid-engine with titanium conrods and abundant use of aluminum in the chassis and suspension, sometimes even Carbon fiber (e.g. in R version for the seats). Later versions contain significantly more body parts made of carbon fiber. In the Japanese domestic duel occurs 1994 Toyota Supra on the scene, what inspires the innovation spirit again.
Very good driving characteristics are certified to the NSX, a mechanically durable, but unfortunately at a higher capacity drive a little louder. The pictures above show the original and the racing versions after the transfer from retractable on conventionally fit headlights. It is also called the Japanese answer to Ferrari, thus is meant only a little the performance, but rather the working. About six years take the development. Experience of front-wheel drive flow in. Because the design is typical for a couple of mid-engine sports car of that time. The front transverse engine moves back basically and keeps in check the otherwise enormous space consumption of vehicles with central engine.
