The second company was founded in the following spring 1902, perhaps speeded up by the victory in Grosse Point.The five investors are the same as the first time. Ford again brings his knowledge and experience instead of money. He shall build a producible car, but that does not seem to interest him much. He set the course again towards racing car, but this time his companions are more vigilant.
After only four months his involvement in the new company has ended. Ford takes with a little money and his racing plan. The project producible the company reserves, which now no longer is called 'HenryFord', but 'Cadillac Automobile Company'. Do you memorize something? And by the way Henry Ford has helped in the establishment of his competitors because Cadillac is an important part of the newly formed 'General Motors' from 1909.
Ford has meantime found a new patron and enthusiasts of motor racing in Tom Cooper. However, both do not drive the '999 'at next years Grosse Point race, too enormous seems the difference to the previous model. Instead, they hire a newcomer named Barney Oldfield, who perhaps underestimated the risks with his naivety and promptly bring again the trophy for Ford.
After the victory, however, the relationship with the racing crazy Cooper cools down. Henry Ford looks for other partnerships and finds them in the successful coal merchant Alex Malcomson. The looks similarly effective the success which later will prove in the separation of both still as a drawback. But now the relationship is a pure stroke of luck. In short, the third company formation, this time with the name 'Ford Motor Company', is the final.
