It was presented in Geneva already in 2014, but comes for the first time to Europe during this year. Then this is the second generation in the US since 2014. The first is dated from 2007 with a facelift in 2011. Hard to believe how successful the car is in America. A total of 1 million Ford Edge have been sold to date, making him the best-selling car in the 'crossover SUVs' segment.
So much space has hardly an SUV. |
It is the largest of the three 'brothers' Edge, EcoSport and Kuga (Picture 4). As already mentioned, it will be offered in Europe, South America and Asia during the year 2015. Something unusual the order of components. Yet very understandable the adaptive steering, constantly changing the transmission ratio. But, secondly at Ford is mentioned the loudspeaker system, which can reduce certain sounds and others can amplify selectively on nearly all places.
Of course, that such a big car needs a camera is undisputed. There is talk of 180° front and rear probably, because the Parking Assistant can now observe the cross traffic in addition. One would like to try, but fears its condition for triggering at the same time. There is talk of inflatable safety belts.
The other assistants are not necessarily worth mentioning, perhaps still the SYNC2 system that shows Ford's competence for the integration in networks and voice control. Typically America are both the heatable and also coolable front seats. It is up to you whether you realize the design as 'charismatic' or rather 'power-accented'.
Interesting, the completely different motorisation at least the European version, where instead of three petrol engines (see below) operate two strong diesel engines at the six-speed converter automatic. Obviously try only very few, enthusiastic manufacturers to conquer the American market with enormously reduced in nitric oxide diesel engines. 03/15
