According to the information of Fiat there were already five generations Ducato. The sixth is just coming. In the beginning the reputation of the Ducato perhaps was not flawless, nevertheless it has established itself. 2.6 million buyers are already much since 1981, apart from the fact that it is also available as Boxer from Peugeot and Jumper from Citroen.

The Ducato is traditionally well-priced, for example, compared to a VW T5. Which it also exceeds in variety. After all, the platform truck is available with four wheelbases and the panel van with three. Due to three heights are possible 7 different loading volumes from 8 to 17 m. These are at the Ford less, but its maximum load length is slightly larger with 4,217 m compared to 4.07 m. Depending on the payload, the platform truck also goes up to the truck sector (> 3.5 t).

The Ford Transit has by its possibility of choice for rear-wheel drive, a larger maximum possible payload. You can drive with the Ducato in no case in a normal garage or car park. But up to 2.17 m height in the interior are really impressive.Even the Ford cannot keep up. The incidentally has also the higher entry-level price, so halfway to the VW. It probably seems to be that the popularity for the Ducato will not diminish e.g. also for camping installations. 05/14
