The coupe is characterized by a skilful model policy. It appears after 124 , with it almost the entire casing shares. Only the engine is bored up and equipped with a DOHC cylinder head, which not benefits only his rotary ability, but also its engine power. If the 124 CI already sporty, then the more so for Coupe and Spider. Incidentally, the greater capacity is transferred back into the sedan and here there is the 124 S. From the common chassis the layman notes nothing. The undercarriage will be reduced only at the Spider, what will benefit the space in the Coupe.
Apparently the Italians see more opportunities for the Spider in the U.S. than for the coupe, as this will be presented a year earlier. The fact speaks for Italian design that limousine, Spider and Coupe have hardly anything in common. Each variant has its own casing. The differences even go so far that, from today's perspective, the three withouttype plates and/or appropriate know-how probably would not be brought to a common denominator. The dashboard is different not only between the two sedans, but also between Coupe and Spider (convertible), both with real wood and for the time very sporty.
This keeps the coupe with sedan character very businesslike with for this type almost circumferential visibility and benefits more from the inner qualities, the sporty engines with twin carburetors, the five-speed transmission and a relatively hard, but very neutral undercarriage. Alfa offers nothing more than a very successful design. In this light Fiat is a price breaker. Unfortunately, by the public is not accordingly honoured. Perhaps one senses something of the Russian plates, from which it is formed. Certain sounds speak on bad roads also not essential for good processing.
