2018 Ferrari FXX K EVO

The legitimate predecessor is the 2005/2006 FXX (pictures below), based on the Enzo. From this were built 30 copies, from its successor FXX-K 40. Both have the engine described above, at that time starting with 588 kW (800 hp) at 8500 rpm and 6 gears in the dual-clutch transmission.

The 'K' stands for Ferrari's hybrid drive (Kinetic Energy Recovery System), which lets now the system performance grows to more than 735 kW (1000 hp). It is reminiscent of the F1 technology, but with more than twice as large engine and a completely more elaborate body. After all, a second seat is possible. However, tremendous efforts have been made to regain weight reduction.

Up to 830 kg downforce on the rear axle. , ,

The vehicles are intended anyway for the racetrack and are awarded without street approval only to specially selected Ferrari related people. They benefit of Ferrari's complete knowledge in the various classes of race participation. For example it has cost a year of testing, to optimize the rear spoiler regarding downforce.

The price has already climbed from € 1.5 million to € 2.2 million (excluding taxes) for its predecessors. It is likely to be even higher on this model because it includes factory support in 15 special races worldwide over the next two years. The FXX K EVO is not supposed to participate in other races. Nevertheless, for Ferrari and involved companies in view of the effort probably more of a loss business, probably as an advertisement tax reductable. 11/17
