To the 50th birthday (2 years too early) Ferrari brings this car as an attempt to a synthesis between Formula 1 and road vehicle, well knowing,
that this is at this time nearly and in the future almost
impossible. Just the second seat beside the driver's seat, the base product changed considerably. The engine of course, must keep more than one
race. While it has 5 valves per cylinder, but its
number of cylinders, performance data and speeds are miles away from those of Formula 1 miles. It can not be the same, because then it not only
would have to be inspected every 2000 km, but
also be revised.
Nevertheless, the car has some typical race car features. Thus by far not everyone who has the necessary cash can buy this car. Condition is said
that already two Ferraris are in the garage, the
buyer for the plant is known and the car will not be sold in the foreseeable future. Obviously one wants (for whatever reason) that this car will
be demanded according to a race car. For this
probably its electronics is designed. It saves a lot of data, which for example can be read out during each inspection. Do not grieve, if you
should not belong to the elect. It is said that one can burn
with this car in an afternoon a set of tyres for about 4000 €, custom-made by Goodyear.
It is at a hand-crafted series of just 350 units even a special car. But if you look closely, you'll find a lot of racing technology. The passenger compartment is made of carbon fiber and directly
connected with the engine as part of the chassis. what for a "normal" car would mean unbearable noise and vibration transmission. The movements of the wheel suspensions are transferred to lying
spring-damper elements vis push rods. These are - for the time unusual - electronically controlled. Also above the suspension are the stabilizers. The traction control is not responding only on drive-/
braking influence but also to load in the curves, which is installed however in newer vehicles even without racing context.
