 2024 Chevrolet Equinox
It's time to take once again a look at Chevrolet, as the third member of the group now has a small EV fleet. Between the Bolt and the Blazer will be the Equinox from 2023. Somewhere we have already spotted in between a
price well below $35,000.
| Chevrolet Electric Vehicles can now also be charged at Tesla Superchargers. |
Are these not competitive prices for a car with an 85 kWh battery and a length of 4.84 metres? No, serious disadvantages are probably not to be expected. The charging power is not very constant, which is probably due to
the lower high voltage on board compared to the competition.
And then you have to fight your way through all the temptations with which GM tries to earn extra money. If you click on the sales pages, you are first offered the two models 2LT and 2RS from $43,295, with heated seats and
steering wheel and electric adjustment.
The LT versions are available with a white roof, the RS versions with a black roof. Both versions are also better equipped than the basic 1LT version, which also has a 17-inch touchscreen, Google software and alloy
wheels.
The wheels are another distinguishing feature between the LT and RS versions, the latter with 21 instead of 19 inches. However, both have heated exterior mirrors, roof rails, all-round LED line, electric tailgate, adaptive
cruise control tailgate, adaptive cruise control, driving assistance and the option to purchase a sunroof.
The seats are not just black either, but tend towards blue in the LT and red in the RS, which looks decidedly more stylish. If there is a '3' in front of LT or RS, then the air conditioning has two zones, the passenger seat is
electrically adjustable and where the wiper is parked, there is a window heater and the sound inside is improved.
But now we're already paying $45,295 or $46,795 and we still don't have all-wheel drive. The starts at $46,595/$48,095 for the 2LT/3LT. We've probably forgotten something, but we already know everything we would give
up. And if you still receive government subsidies . . .
