  Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6

Bentley has always been the more sporting spin-off of Rolls-Royce, particularly before the takeover. One seems to have these genes in mind, also through the participation in GT3-motorsport. In contrast to the Continental, a more sports-orientated two-seater is now being introduced. However, despite the digitalisation, the British philosophy is still being upheld, the interior even boasts wood and leather. The latter is something that the former Rolls-Royce factories can do particularly well, and is one of the reasons why Bentley became a subsidiary of VW.

Also the exterior, now in the typical metallic green, suits the car excellently. It also shows the classic GT-lines, which stand out very nicely when looking at the car from the side-view. The rear-end, with the shape given to the exhaust pipes taken from the shape of the tail-lights, is exceptionally attractive. Only the front-end, with the splendid headlights a bit too low and the somewhat unimaginative use of metal wire has overshot the target.

Indeed, there is still a lot of time between now and 2019, to make the one or the other alteration, not only as far as design is concerned. Perhaps they may emphasize the breathing intakes, maybe even make them adjustable, e.g., from materials similar to carbon. It cannot be all that difficult, to integrate something like this into the existing design.

Of course, being more sports car-like, means getting rid of the enormous tare-weight, that even the coupés carry. Of course, it is stressed, that the luxury may not be curtailed. Even the use of hybrid components is being planned, which might however, have a contradictory effect. We'll have to wait and see, just how much of the Continental GTs 2,2 tons can be reduced. A reduction in price however, is not being planned. 03/15

Is this radiator grill really as historically significant as the manufacturer maintains? As you can see in the following examples, this is not the case. This is what all the grills of modern Bentleys looked like, also after the change to the pontoon shape.

For the older models, here are two exceptions:

Indeed, the majority of the Bentleys had this grill, mainly as a protection in front of the headlights.
