BMW Zagato Coupé
Just 40 - 50 years ago it often happened that Northern Italian designers create for motor shows bodies on the undercarriage of mostly even large series cars. Italy has traditionally been the center of the manual work
for this sector and the changeover to the self-supporting body had not changed much. So such manufacturer showed
- whereto he was capable technically and artistically,
- what the large series manufacturer
perhaps could do with his product.

For this BMW of Zagato the initiative is obviously made during a meeting between BMW's chief designer van Hooydonk and Zagato bossDr. Andrea Zagato. This is not about to get an order for a development order.
This seems to be a unique project at the BMW employees were apparently involved. The result is not presented at a motor show for the first time but at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on Lake Como, where only

from Zagato.
