BMW X4: Sports Active Coupé

Even at first glance, the X4 seems as the smaller derivative of the X6. But there is one crucial difference: the X4 is also available as X3, thus with another rear. This can only be due to the fact that body design and its implementation in the practice have become so low priced that it is already profitable at a relatively low increase of the buyers.

No, the actions of the vehicle manufacturers to encounter with the means of logic, one should give up slowly. Maybe the same applies to the customer because who buys an SUV with longer rear, less loading volume and less headroom rear, if there is a better alternative from the same company with otherwise the same technique?

And really chic is something different, this BMW proves at the coupe of the same vehicle class, not to speak from an i8 (but more expensive). More money to the producer because there is not even a front-wheel drive right at the beginning, which could at least save some of the more than 1,800 kg kerb weight. Although it is clear that most people buy an SUV in order to sit higher and feel more secure. They must now pick up the all-wheel.

This can only be the product of marketing, no doubt very successfully with a margin of about 30 percent for the X-series of BMW. Obviously, the money which is needed in part for the daring start of electric mobility, will earned there. In this respect, one can actually calm down and say the buyers of the X4 do a good deed. If they choose at least the diesel!

Yes, the success of the X4 is almost guaranteed. It seems to be a deliberated idea to offer the visually hardly smaller 'offshoot' with a price discount of around € 20,000. Small and modern is then always a good argument. Indeed, the popular six-cylinder is still available, both petrol engine and diesel engine. Interestingly, the smallest four-cylinder diesel generates the same maximum torque as the largest petrol six-cylinder. It will be interesting how the smallest petrol four-cylinder will cope with the weight.

The rear seats are positioned lower by 28 mm than in X3. Surprising however, why the front seats have lost in height 20 millimeters, where the roof has the vertex just above these and only then slowly decreases. The reason is to find in the 37 millimeter lower height of the X4 compared to the X3. As already mentioned, there are 200 liters difference in load volume and a larger opening. 05/14

Between X4 and X3 8,400 € difference in base price.

10,000 € difference in base price between X6 and X5.
