Is not that a great idea to offer parallel to the two door model a four door model Coupé, identical in the forebody, but then towards the rear with a much higher roofline. Because there will be probably not so very many people, the can afford a coupe as a second car. A car in this price range should already be to use every day, so you know for what you earn the money.

Not more expensive than the two-door coupé!

This Gran Coupé is the most tolerable extention of a vehicle that can still be considered as compact. Parking lengthwise so still works, parking crosswise anyway. There are even just a little more than 4.5 meters in length. Gorgeous the large wheelbase which placed the car yet a little further in the direction of Gran Turismo. The rear door handles themselves cleverly hide in the continuous edge. Only large adults have to duck the head rear. But the sit on long journeys rarely rear.

Too bad that so much is lamented about high trunk sills. It is not to understand at all because indeed supermarket trolleys are at least as high. A higher edge rear would benefit the stability and would make the car lighter overall. After all, he has increased again around 50 kg compared to the two-door coupe. And think of the insurance premiums, when the entire hatch must be replaced at each small rear crash.

1,300 liters of space arise with folded rear seat backs. If that's not enough, one has deserved also no coupé with frameless doors. However, station wagons are generally loaded only up to the lower edge of the windows. Then there is no great difference.

Probably also the manufacturer considers this version as the more practical than the two-door coupe, because he has given to it instead of the big six-cylinder diesel engine the small one as 418i. So the car is more fuel efficient and as a diesel more affordable. And actually, it should still doing well with 320 Nm. 02/14
