What it does have for a sense, if a 20 centimeter longer 3er BMW with a sloping tailgate completes the range with Sedan and Touring and thereby is nearly 1,000 euros more expensive. To make the confusion complete, it has as the only 3er except the coming 4er, already the new design front and side ventilation slots.
Good that the 20 centimeters were not attached at the back alone, but 11 of them also of benefit to the wheelbase. In order to hold the bow back and not to endanger the back seat comfort, the roof begins about 8 centimeters higher than even at the Touring. Of course, the GT beats the Touring in the loading capacity too, if it's not just about height or loading edge.
You might think seen from the space available, BMW inherits with the 3er GT also the 5er. If it is not necessarily a matter of prestige, it would really be the better choice. However, considering the somewhat bulky luggage compartment cover, you tend to feel the GT is not for transportation but rather designed for the comfortable journey of four people, wherein the rear seat passengers should not be too tall.
A possible additional weight obviously you do not realize at the GT and the consumption is not significantly higher. If so, then anyway here would be important only the vehicle height, the length of course not. Also in the handling the GT is still remaining a 3er. Also in the handling the GT still remains a 3er. And what its suspension tautness has less to tenth points will benefit it on a journey. Thus its determination is adequately described. 06/13
