The 315 is the second derivative of the six-cylinder inline engine. You could have guessed already that it would not stay at 1200 cm ³. Of course
such a motor can not stop at 1500 cm ³, but still has
considerable development potential. Now it goes in rapid succession. Almost every six months a new model. Financed will be all from the ongoing
success of the aircraft engine production.
There is of type 315 yet a sports roadster version. This has three carburetors and a little higher compression ratio (6,5 / 6,8), more than 4 kW engine performance, is about 120 km / h fast and
weighs only 750 kg. For possible rain, there act a hood as a makeshift. This car was probably the first who founded BMW's racing tradition. It costs 5200 RM and it is successful, for example, at
the 2000 km- and the Alpine Rally. 11/06
