Clever that one has waited so long with the entry into the Van sector until there was available a front-wheel drive. BMW emphasizes that this is the first compact seven seater in the premium class. It is clear, you do not pay out of the petty cash a new BMW. So 'premium' is already correct, but 'seven-seater'?

Certainly not simple with just well 4.5 metres in length. By the way, this are compared to the Active Tourer good 20 inches additional length. The wheelbase has increased but only with a little more than 11 centimetres. In height it has also gained by good 5 centimetres, which means in total, however, only between 25 and 40 kg extra weight.

Something stronger on the air resistance affect the increased by 0.05 m² cross-sectional area and the increased drag coefficient. The price is of course also risen by 1,450 euros, what can be actually viewed as adequate difference for the increased value in use. Inevitable these days the Premium version with all-wheel drive with again 115 kg more weight.

Here you can see the different possibilities of use. So, should be necessary a little more space for the third row of seats, the second (no extra charge) moveable by 13 centimetres. Together with the changeable inclination of the seat backs and the 40:20:40 apportionment remain probably hardly anything to be desired for the use of the luggage compartment.

Not bad the idea, to be able to fold a bike rack in such a way that it fits under the cargo floor in the emergency wheel tub. On the three-seater bench rear, three child seats can be arranged side by side, with but probably not easy to handle middle seat. 02/15
