Who can resist a carbon brake milled into the stone. No, Audi is building not itself this brakes, but in this price category (of a small car) and the relatively small series one gets virtually for free even the brand logo from the actual manufacturer

The upper class is struggling quite synchronously with each other. Bring the counterparties Mercedes and BMW a coupe based on the third and most important sale model serie, so does Audi.

Inside the differences to the 'normal' Audi equipment have become smaller. Gimmicks such as the particularly stylish ring around the steering wheel impact absorber, the gearshift lever and air outlet nozzles have disappeared or rather been adopted in a simplified form from the Audi basic concept. There only the difference remains of the three nozzles at TT against the two at A3. However, the control panel would be up there in better hands.

Of course, a comparison with the A3 Cabriolet is interesting because both drive largely with Golf technique. Here, the TT has clearly converged to the general image of Audi, is contoured more strongly in details, e.g. the hood until far beyond the wheel arches. As the biggest difference the four seats remain at the A3 whereby the view from the rear differs completely.

While the coupe loses slightly its hatchback in the transition to the new model generation and a slight bend is visible beyond the rear window the division between the passenger and luggage space will omitted to some extent in the new convertible. Here the silhouette was formerly straighter above the rear.

The fourth generation of A4 is adapted to the A5. It has become a little larger. In road traffic it is particularly noticeable by the striking daytime driving lights.

The advances in design result in a difference in the drag coefficient from 0.27 to 0.31 between the saloon and Avant.

This A4 bears the initial 'B8'. The main technical feature is the lower front axle load by relocating the axle drive next to the clutch, allowing the displacement of the entire drive unit about 15 centimeters to the rear.

The Audi fittings that time ...

The car has initially two V8 engines. The V10 is only 3 years later. Except in racing it always has all-wheel drive.

Already Lamborghini belongs to Audi and yet or just because Audi is now launching a mid-engined sports car made of aluminum. With the Le Mans Quattro from 2003, it has very little in common.

2008

What the Q7 is too big, corrected in some way, the Q5. The number fits to A5 and the to A4. It is once again a niche emerged that of the compact SUV. However, as with the Tiguan with the Q5, you can not choose between all-wheel and front-wheel drive.

Representing the A3 series produced since 1996, we have pictured here, the charming convertible. In the meantime (2011), there is not only the S3 but also the RS3, with at least fivecharged cylinders and 250 kW (340 HP). At 250 km/h, the sporty vehicles meet again.

2009

A Spyder is always little heavier than the Coupe, from which it is derived. It saves compared with this, weight by generous use of carbon fiber components at the rear. There the urgently needed intake slots for cooling air can be found now above the engine instead at the side. They are designed so that, even when the roof is closed enough air can be sucked.

2008, the R8 gets as study the V12 diesel engine. In 2009, it is driven by four electric motors with a total of 230 kW (313 HP) for testing purposes. The associated battery weighs nearly half a ton. One can look forward to the next development ...

Technically, the R8 LMS differs from the series by pure rear-wheel drive instead of all-wheel-drive. In addition, the electronics switch the sequential straight-cut toothed transmission pneumatically in a way that obviously no synchronization is required. Thereby, of course will be duty when downshifting a precisely dosed declutching. Otherwise on board the V10 derived of the series with a 90° cylinder angle and 5.2 liters of displacement. The homologation weight will be slightly above 1300 kg.

The as GT3 used R8 LMS is extremely successful already in its first season. The R8 is increasingly becoming a sporting flagship of Audi and thus become an important advertising media.

Each S-version (picture) takes the engine version above it. And what does the highest, the A8? For the one took precautions and designed the series V6, V8 and V10. This results in 5.2 liters of displacement with 331 kW (450 HP) with a lot of power and with 540 Nm at 3500 rpm even more torque. The car comes thus however just slightly to the limit of € 100,000.

Of course, the A3 and TT are very similar, the initial design differences will be rather less. This also affects the RS power unit, a longitudinal U.S. five-cylinder with so much turbo power that almost the values of the larger RS versions are achieved.

Still rapidly a picture of the A4, paid much attention at the IAA in Frankfurt.

And here's the good piece. It lacks certainly not in performance and torque. It developed at least 253 kW (344 HP) and 410 Nm. But the "climate devil" is after it and it had to leave this place to the up to two cylinders missing nearly the same looking company brother. Result with compressor: 245 kW (333 kW) and even 440 Nm, whose development begins even at much lower speeds.

The 'S' stands at Audi for the sporty line. If possible, one grabs in the shelf of the next higher class and gets out there, not just the weakest engine. And because the engines of A4, A6 and A8 are installed longitudinally, the S4 will benefit from a V8 with 4.2 liters of displacement, naturally combined with all-wheel drive.

2010

In Geneva, it is presented, the brother of the Polo. Although VW has been catching up powerful in design it will move away from it, e.g. by all-wheel drive, which is in the group completely new in this class. Now first of all it attracts attention by colored contrasting roof struts.

2011

Maybe this is the perfect combination for the most Audi driver: 3-liter TDI with quattro drive. The base price of 43,000 euro is likely to be a barrier for many lovers.
