It is not quite as expensive as the Audi luxury class, but has many of their extras. It's just as well manufactured. The shape is more extravagant, corresponds to the of the A5 Coupé, albeit with raised rear and a large tailgate. As a result, you can sit rear with more headroom, but can open the crank-operated windows only slightly more than half.

This does not apply to the tailgate, the hallmark of every Audi Sportback. Here it is particularly protruding, swings widely upwards and allows easy access to the luggage compartment even with folded rear seat backs. However, you should limit the soar up, otherwise the expensive piece scars possibly even on the garage roof.

Approximately 6 centimetres more wheelbase than Coupé

The tailgate is a clear advantage to the relatively small hatch of the A4, of which platform is based the A5, though with a bit more width and significantly larger overhangs. Maybe one should compare it, in terms of shape not necessarily mandatory, with the A4 Avant the up to the window line offers hardly much more load volume. However, compared to this, one must accept a slightly higher loading sill.

Inside, there is not much new except its size, because known from the A4. Of course, with respect to 32,500 €* is to pay almost 3.000 €* less than for the coupe but also 4000 €* more than for the A4 and after all, still about 2000 € more than for the Avant. However, the petrol basic engines are different: 18 kW (24 hp) less in both A4 and 19 kW (26 hp) more in the Coupé, every 1.8 TFSI with 6-speed.

A7 Sportback: Nearly 20.000 €* more expensive ...

You can clearly see where the A5 Sportback is positioned. Because about 70 percent are company cars, for some people it should be a special award, of course, visible to everyone. Pleasure without regrets? If you do not have to finance it from the privy purse, definitely. (*Prices from 2014)
