The company Alfa just survived a bankruptcy and the takeover by Nicola Romeo, who had earned quite some money - amongst other things by the production of war sensitive goods. No less than Enzo Ferrari was the driver and with him the Targa Florio victory in the first year was a fact. Alfa's racing career began.
