Truck Drum Brake

An overall view of the classic truck drum brake can be seen here in the simplest possible construction form. The brake shoes, riveted onto cast-iron supports, are individually mounted below and are operated on top by an S-shaped cam whose brake shaft comes from the axle center through the anchor-plate. A sufficiently dimensioned spring holds the brake shoes together with its rollers, onto the contact area of the S-shaped cam. 05/10
