This is the model of the first steam engine built by James Watt. Here the force of a vertical cylinder (to the left) is transferred to the flywheel (to the right) via a tiltable beam. To the right of the cylinder the control of the vapour pressure is visible. Next to it the centrifugal governor which prevents too high revs of the machine. 06/08
