 Driving Aids
From the variety of driving aids for the disabled, we pick the to be assigned to the steering. Unfortunately, there is still no joystick such as in agriculture. The possible speeds and thus probably the legal tasks
for this are probably still too high. But you can already foresee that there is a chance with the advances in autonomous driving for significantly disabled people to drive a car independently.
Thus remains for the moment only the opportunity to group functions all around the steering wheel together with the knob for its operation. So, if it is not possible to operate the pedals, their function can be
transferred upwards in a vehicle with automatic transmission.
Also, the use of the steering wheel with only one arm is possible. For this purpose, the wiper lever e.g. can be elongated to the left and there is an element with a small keypad that transmits the on-board
electronics via infrared the wishes of the driver. Of course, even the servo effect on the steering can be enhanced by up to 60 percent.
