Compression ratio (varying)

The compression ratio can be increased through … - material loss from the cylinder head (planing), - a thinner head gasket, - more compression of the piston, - longer con-rods.
s s h = -  old - 1 new - 1 |
s · ( old - 1)
new = - 1 s - h · ( old - 1) |
A positive value for the difference in height means that either from the cylinder head must be removed material or a thinner head gasket must be used. A negative height difference will probably only be achieved with a
thicker head gasket. 06/14
