Formulary Tyre Calculation

Rim-diameter + twice the tyre-height = tyre-diameter

The dynamic wheel-radius cannot be determined from the tyre description, indeed, the radius/diameter can. The precision is limited, because in the case of, e.g., the tyre-width, we're dealing with a grid dimension. Regardless of whether the tyre is 209 mm or 201 mm wide, the tyre always has the description '205'.

dR: Tyre diameter in mm, cm, dm, m
b: Tyre width in mm, cm, dm, m
h/b: Ratio from height to width in percent
dF: Rim diameter in inch

160/60 ZR 17

b = 160 mm; h/b = 60; dF = 17 Zoll

205/65 R 15 86T

b = 205 mm; h/b = 65; dF = 15 Zoll
