Induction System

Solution

This is the induction stroke for a 12 cylinder-V-engine. The throttle plates are bolted to the two joint flanges visible to the right and left. Each main collector is responsible for a cylinder bank. If there were only a collector in the center of the engine, the intake distances would be too short. Short intake distances bring especially much torque at high engine speed. Even with a twelve-cylinder engine it depends on enough torque at low and medium engine speeds. Since the two main collectors are each above the other cylinder bank, slightly longer single tubes are possible. The tube lengths are not changeable during operation in the construction shown above. The material is aluminum and the design also represents an attractive engine cover.
